Mission Statement:

Not in Columbus’ is a coalition of organizations in Columbus, Indiana who have formed an alliance to reject publicly the ideology of any group that seeks to divide and exclude any members of our community. We believe Columbus is an inclusive community that values diversity in all its forms, therefore we renounce all forms of hate in our city. White Supremacists, White Nationalists, Neo-Nazis (and any other group founded on discriminatory ideologies) are NOT welcome to use this town as grounds to recruit, indoctrinate, or mobilize our residents. ‘Not in Columbus’ will not be silent in response to hate. We will stand against those wishing to spread hate by word or deed.

As we seek to foster a city committed to anti-racism, we are united in coalition to amplify love, advocate for human rights, and respond to hate in all its forms.

Who?

We are a coalition of organizations in Columbus, Indiana, that publicly rejects white supremacist ideology and any group that seeks to discriminate against members of our community based on race, ethnicity, or nationality.

What?            

We alert one another to any white supremacist or hate group activity in the area
We amplify our member organizations’ anti-racist work and education programs
We advocate for public policy that promotes human rights, including a hate crimes bill
We respond to acts of hate and white supremacy through an emergency action plan

Why? 

We believe Columbus aspires to be an inclusive community that values diversity in all its forms. We will work proactively to nurture a city committed to multiculturalism and anti-racism.
